Drs. John McCall, Allison Fears, Malti Tuttle, and Ms. Lonnisha Smith are conducting a research study focusing on the experiences of school counselors working in a rural setting and their experiences with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
You can participate in this study if you meet the following criteria:
1). Identify as a School Counselor Working in a Rural Setting in the United States.
2). Willing to commit to complete a demographic screening survey, one recorded semi-structured interview, and review interview transcripts and themes.
3.) Are 19 years or older.
Participation involves completing a brief online Qualtrics survey and a 60–90-minute Zoom interview. The survey is used only to determine eligibility for participation in the interview and is not a compensated portion of the study. Study Title: How Specific Demographic Factors Predict Job Satisfaction, Burnout, and Intent to Leave in School Counselors

You are being invited to participate in a research study about the specific demographic factors that predict job satisfaction, burnout, and intent to leave in school counselors that is being conducted by Dusty Timmons (doctoral candidate) under the supervision of Dr. Lynne Guillot Miller and Dr. Cassandra Storlie at Kent State University. This study has been approved by the Kent State University IRB.
Participation is confidential and involves taking a survey that will take 15-25 minutes.
Qualified participants must:
● Be licensed/certified as a school counselor in their respective state
● Be employed full-time (35+ hours per week) as a school counselor
● Currently work in a public school in the United States
