We recognize that individuals do not necessarily need to be a school counselor to support and advance the profession, which is why we encourage our members to nominate for Advocate of the Year. Individuals who have shown exemplary support of school counseling services, outstanding promotion of school counseling services, implementation of new/additional school counseling services, and/or improvement of existing school counseling services are excellent candidates for this award. The purpose of the Advocate of the Year Award is to recognize persons who have demonstrated their belief in and support of school counseling programs and who have made an impact on the local, state, or national level.
Examples of an Advocate of the Year include a supervisor/administrator over school counselors at the school, district, or state levels, parents, community members, school board members, elected officials, etc.
Nominations close November 1, 2024.
Nominations are due November 1, 2024.
Nominees must complete the application by December 2, 2024.
