The Arizona School Counselors Association promotes our profession, supports school counselors through resources and professional networking, and through demonstrating our ethical practices, professional partnerships with parents, staff and community while developing evidence based national model implementation in all schools, and to assist/ support students in their academic experiences, college/ career preparation, and social/ emotional development.
Nominate an outstanding school counselor for the prestigious AzSCA School Counselor of the Year Award! The nomination takes just a few minutes and is an important way that our professional organization can honor the great work of school counselors in our state.
The Rising Star Award recognizes AzSCA members who are new to the field (1-4 years) and are starting to make a difference at their school or in the profession. The applicant’s record must reflect exceptional growth, commitment, and increasing levels of responsibility or leadership. Applicants must demonstrate they are on a trajectory for making a lasting impact on their school, students, or community, or demonstrate promise for contributing to the school counseling profession.
We recognize that individuals do not necessarily need to be a school counselor to support and advance the profession, which is why we encourage our members to nominate for Advocate of the Year. Individuals who have shown exemplary support of school counseling services, outstanding promotion of school counseling services, implementation of new/additional school counseling services, and/or improvement of existing school counseling services are excellent candidates for this award. The purpose of the Advocate of the Year Award is to recognize persons who have demonstrated their belief in and support of school counseling programs and who have made an impact on the local, state, or national level.
