AzSCA believes the school counselor plays a pivotal role in a student's academic, social/emotional and career development. In response to our states recent allocation of funds to provide more school counselors, we are establishing a program to offer support to new school counselors or current school counselors moving to a different grade level of service.
You qualify for a Mentor if you are currently employed as a school counselor and have less than 5 years experience or if you have been a school counselor but have transfered to serve a different grade level. In order to find a mentor closest to you please submit this form for consideration. All Mentors prescribe to the ASCA definition of the role of the school counselor and strive toward using the ASCA model in their daily role. All matches are assigned and remain a match through a complete school calendar year.
***PLEASE NOTE: In order to participate in the AzSCA Mentor Program you must be a Certified School Counselor by the State of Arizona Department of Education or be in the process of being certified.*** You must also be a current member of the AzSCA.
